Memorial to the International Brigades. Peoples Centre, Liverpool

Memorial plaque to the Merseyside International BrigadesThe memorial was originally installed at the Trade Union & Unemployed Resources Centre, Hardmann Street, Liverpool on 16th November 1985.

In 2006, the plaque was moved to the new 'Peoples Centre' on Mount Pleasant, where it remains. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War and to recognise the brave men from Merseyside who gave their lives in the struggle for democracy in Spain, a rededication of the plaque was performed by Jack Jones, exactly 21 years to the day that he had originally unveiled the memorial .
